Ingredients

Basic Ingredients

  • 4 medium Russet potatoes about 6-8 ounces each – These have the best texture for baking, with a fluffy interior and crispy skin.
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil – Helps achieve a golden crispy skin.
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt – Enhances flavor and helps draw out moisture for better crisping.
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper – Adds a mild kick of seasoning.
  • 1 cup water – Needed for the pressure cooking process in the Ninja Foodi.

Optional Toppings & Variations

  • Butter – Classic topping for added richness.
  • Sour cream – Creamy and tangy for a balanced flavor.
  • Shredded cheese – Cheddar mozzarella, or Parmesan for a melty finish.
  • Crumbled bacon – Adds a savory crunch.
  • Chopped green onions or chives – For freshness and mild onion flavor.
  • Garlic powder or onion powder – For extra seasoning.
  • Paprika or smoked paprika – Adds a hint of smoky depth.

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

  • Start by washing and scrubbing the potatoes under running water to remove any dirt. Pat them dry with a clean kitchen towel. Using a fork, poke a few holes around each potato to allow steam to escape during cooking.

Step 2: Pressure Cook the Potatoes

  • Pour 1 cup of water into the Ninja Foodi’s inner pot. Place the air fryer basket inside and arrange the potatoes in a single layer. Secure the pressure cooking lid, making sure the valve is set to "Seal."
  • Select the Pressure Cook function and set the time to 15 minutes for medium-sized potatoes (18–20 minutes for larger ones).
  • Once the cooking cycle is complete, allow a 10-minute natural release, then carefully turn the valve to “Venting” to release any remaining pressure.

Step 3: Air Crisp for a Crispy Skin

  • Once the pressure cooking is finished, carefully remove the lid. Drain any excess water from the inner pot, then return the potatoes to the air fryer basket.
  • Brush each potato with olive oil and sprinkle with sea salt for added crispiness.
  • Select the Air Crisp function and set the temperature to 400°F (200°C). Cook for 8–10 minutes, flipping the potatoes halfway through, until the skin is golden brown and crispy.

Step 4: Serve and Enjoy

  • Carefully remove the potatoes from the Ninja Foodi using tongs. Let them cool for a couple of minutes before slicing them open. Fluff the insides with a fork and add your favorite toppings like butter, sour cream, cheese, or fresh herbs.
